Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre appeared in the Moscow theatrical life 25 years ago. An unusual exhibition dedicated to this unique theatre will be held at the Shchepkin House Museum on the occasion of its anniversary. The curators decided to recreate the atmosphere of the Workshop inner life turning the museum space into several corners devoted to the theatre: the repertory department, the actors’ rec room and the most important place — the artists’ and directors’ workshop, where performances are born. The display includes playbills, artists’ photos, books, set models, props and other things recreating the moments of the creative process.
The exhibition purpose is to show the theatre’s life, which can never be open to the public. While museum visitors will immerse into the atmosphere of the Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre, the theatre will actively work on a new masterpiece.
