The exhibition «Et Cetera Theatre. 25 Years» devoted to the theatre’s anniversary is open at the A.A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum from September 25.

Alexander Kalyagin, the Et Cetera Theatre’s art director, and theatre’s leading actors are expected on the opening day.

The exhibition features posters, props, set models from the performances «The Patient», «The Inspector General», «Duck Hunt», «Your Chekhov», «The Elder Sister», etc., costumes from the plays «Don Quixote», «My Fair Lady», «Uncle Vanya», «Swarthy Lady of Sonnets», «Russky Invalid Newspaper», «Birds», etc.

The exhibition also demonstrates videos with fragments from performances.

The Et Cetera Theatre was created by Alexander Kalyagin in 1993 together with graduates of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio. The theatre’s history begins with the production of Chekhov’s «Uncle Vanya». The building on Turgenevskaya Square was given to the theatre only in 2005 – before that the theatre performed plays at various venues in Moscow.

The Et Cetera is a living open theatre, existing beyond any dogmas, rigid ideas, theatrical manifestos. Such recognized directors as Robert Sturua /Georgia/ and Adolf Shapiro, Alexander Morfov /Bulgaria/ and Oskaras Korshunovas /Lithuania/, Vajdi Muwad /Canada/ and Dmitry Bertman, Peter Stein /Germany/, Grigory Dityatkovsky, Mikhail Ugarov, Roman Kozak worked on the performances on the stage of the Et Cetera theatre. Such famous theatrical figures as David Borovsky, Georgy Alexi-Meskhishvili, Eduard Kochergin, Victor Durgin worked on designs for the productions at this theatre.

Today the theatre has a full life. The theatre group has played in many cities of Russia from Khanty-Mansiysk to St. Petersburg, participated in national and international theatre festivals in the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, Israel, Cuba, Argentina and other countries.
